The power of leadership
Hiring smart

The power of leadership.

Are you aware of your true role
and responsibilities? Are you a true leader?

In order to be powerful and fully expressed in your role as a leader you must not only know yourself well, you must also honor your own truth and your own fundamental values.

Authenticity well aligned with inner truth is always nourished by the root of self confidence!

These are the four most important qualities found in great leaders:

  1. Authenticity
  2. True self knowledge
  3. Self mastery
  4. Humility

What does authenticity mean?

  • Be real.
  • Your outer self should be exactly the same as your inner self.
  • Only your authenticity can generate the confidence from others. Sooner or later, people pick up on someone who is not real.
  • Practice what you preach, because everyone is watching, you are a role model!
  • Lack of authenticity has a tremendous impact on your credibility.

Good self knowledge consists of :

  • Learning to be comfortable with our strengths and not being handicapped by our weaknesses.
  • Learning from our successes as well as our mistakes.
  • Having the strong desire to continually learn and grow.

Self mastery consists of:

  • Having good self knowledge enabling us to master our attitudes and behaviors.
  • Keeping an eye on our ego, taking responsibility for our behaviours, adapting to change, embracing new ideas and at all times, without any exceptions, always maintaining our standards of integrity and honesty!

Humility consists of:

  • No longer paying attention to your ego.
  • Learning to listen and admitting that you do not have all the answers.
  • Nourishing the attitude that you can learn from anyone at any time.
  • Your ego must not prevent you from gathering all the information that you need in order to generate better results.

BELIEF IN YOUR COMPANY’S FUNDAMENTAL VALUES AND MISSION:

If the value structure and mission of the company that you are presently working for are not in line with your own fundamental values, you’re in serious trouble!

When you become a leader, you must check your ego at the door!

You cannot enroll anyone in the company’s mission if you do not believe in it in the first place!

If your behavior and attitude are not reflecting the company’s value structure and mission, you are automatically being inauthentic and it’s going to be a very hard and strenuous ride! Here are a few of the costs:

  • Loss of self expression
  • Loss of enthusiasm
  • Loss of morale
  • Loss of creativity
  • Eventually,serious health problems

* A powerful leader has as reference a solid ethical and professional foundation which always reflects his or her fundamental values. This foundation is at all times his or her point of reference.

* A powerful leader always remains concentrated on what he or she knows to be true within his or her inner being.

* The professional ethic of powerful leaders is always based on honesty and integrity. This professional etchic must always consist in treating each employee with respect and dignity!

A true leader knows how to motivate their team, why? Because he or she cannot win the game on their own!
